lol if 15 bucks a month is throwing away money you must be poor.
that does happen to pay for a gym membership where i am....
hmmmmmm lol
Whether or not you mean this as an insult, without personal knowledge and first hand experience you lose credability. Would be like me saying that you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to modding or building computers because you are a diesel tech. And while diesels may offer more power you are nothing but a sucker for buying one because they do nothing more than pollute the environment to an extreme degree and offer nothing for the consumer market?! Also, you are saying they are suckers because they bought the game AND THEN pay a month subscription fee. That is like calling someone a sucker for buying a car and then having to do your normal maintanence on it. Shouldn't it just work without having to spend $30-$50 bucks every 3k miles for an oil change?
However, everyone is entitled their own opinion to such things. You think its pathetic that people play games and call them an "addiction." I say you are nothing more than a "gearhead" and should stick to fixing cars and leave the real work to people with brains![]()
(actually I dont believe that but you get the jist of what I am saying)
I am 22 years old and i make $55k a year..As an apprentice. 3 years 70k a year.. And if you think it doesnt take brains for the trade. You obviously dont know what your talking about. You think computer electrical is hard? pfft haha. you think building a computer takes "skill" try playing with engines, differentials, trannies. So on. Get a life. kthnx
And actually people are suckers for paying $30-50 for an oil change. When it costs $15 in parts.
I am a gamer. I play games. But when a game becomes and addiction, its a problem. And guess what. I am a gear head. Do you honestly think I care? without Diesel mechanics you would have no Freight to get your "computer parts" you wouldnt get food from your local grocery store, you wouldnt get gas to the Gas station.

Hello, my name is *****. I have a Level 70 Warrior on Kil'Jaeden and I'm currently working on a Level 23 Hunter. I'd have to agree with most people here.
WoW is a very dangerous thing. I started playing in February 2006. I played until November, then quit. I started up again in February of 2007 after I picked up the expansion, and have been playing since then. Now, once again, I am seriously thinking of quitting.
WoW is a great game, but in order to feel a sense of accomplishment by playing it, you need to get gear. And, to get gear, you first need...well, 5 hours of almost nonstop raiding, 5 days a week. Simply not worth the time, IMO. If I don't have the time to raid and can't get good gear, what is the point of playing anymore?
The point I'm trying to make is that WoW is not worth playing unless you either have alot of time or alot of money, or both. If you have alot of time and spend it raiding, then most likely you will become addicted. If you have alot of money, it'd probably be better spent on something else.
WoW is a drug. Just like real drugs, many people become addicted...but many people also learn to give it up. Once you get to Level 70 with full Tier 4 and you're decked out in Epics, take a big step back from the screen and look at your toon, then think of how much time you've spent to get that gear...then think of what else you could have been doing in that time. Yeah, exactly.
This is my plea to my fellow WoW players: Take a step back and look at the big picture.
I will be quitting after this free month ends, which I got from referring somebody. I feel horrible about it. I have not played for 3 days and I intend to keep that streak going. After, I will highly consider putting my account up on eBay.
If I didn't play WoW, I'd accomplish nothing better in my life. I have quit playing several times and I have come back because of pure boredom. When I lived in Chicago, I had things to do. In Mississippi, not so much.
You guys have to realize not every one has something else to do with their life. I can't go to a show, play in a band, or work on my car here. I just sit at home and do nothing after I get off of work.
Also, how is WoW any different than any other computer game? You don't have to raid, that's a personal choice. You can PVP all you want. You don't accomplish anything in any game that helps in your real life experiences...well I'm wrong. WoW has actually helped me become more of a team leader and helped me learn how to tolerate morons and dipshits because WoW has a lot of them.![]()

Just because you live in Mississipi, doesn't mean you can't do anything? That's the most idiotic logic I have ever heard in my entire life. You may not be able to do the same things you used to do when you lived in Chicago, but there is plenty of stuff to do.
IThink about the Facts you dum F**k
Not where I live. I spend most of my free time after work exercising, working on my car, and playing WoW. Please come to my town and show me what there is to do, because there is nothing.
Technically there are always more productive things to do, like learning a new language, instrument, starting a home business, etc. But if you're having fun, it's not time wasted.
If you are going to call someone a "dum F**k" its probably a good idea to but the "b" on dumb.
Im not saying ... Im just saying.
See, I ran out of stuff to do, so I play WoW!![]()

I've mastered 20 languages, learned five instruments, and started my own company. See, I ran out of stuff to do, so I play WoW!![]()
This discussion is not about who knows more about cars or diesels (as I am sure you know more as it is your industry of choice) but rather about the realization of an "unnoticed" addiction to something that is not considered illegal or on the health boards as an "addictive substance." So please refrain from calling people losers and such just because they have realized that their, once thought relaxation time, is nothing more than an addiction to something other than the normal items.
That should've been your post. Are we done measuring?
One of my college friends played WoW on and off. He'd play for awhile and stop once he realized it isn't helping him get a girl, and that he needs to spend more time with friends and his frat brothers. After awhile he'd get a little down again and go back to WoW. Kind of a sad rollercoaster.
I can sympathize with you brother. Theres only one way to quit, cold turkey. I had a roommate that was addicted to Lineage 2, and let me tell you it was a total addiction. He quit his job, ditched his friends, and basically let his life go downhill all to play the game. The only time he would come out of his room was to use the bathroom or get his pizza from the delivery guy.He would stay up days at a time, and it was taking a toll on his body. One day I walked into his room and found about 100 dirty moldy paper plates, 100's of coke cans and him passed out from sleep deprivation on the floor. He had literally hit rock bottom laying in a pile of his own dirty, pizza stained paper plates and coke cans. At that point I interviened and told him that his addiction had turned into a problem. He had always been the most respectful , cleanliest , and hard working guys I ever knew. A guy who's job always was important to him as well as his friends. It was very sad to see him fall into this downward spiral. He tried to quit several times only to go back time after time. One of the most pitiful things I've ever seen.
WoW (and other games) are addictive to some extent. Playing them can produce endorphins etc that act as drugs do. People can get withdrawal symptoms if they stop once they are heavily addicted ( most people are never quite that badly addicted though).
It seems like everyone here is some kind of fucking doctor.
You people should think about what your trying to push off as fact, and see that it makes no sense.
I always wonder why people become so defensive over a game. Isn't that the sign that there is a problem?
