Just started on this one, used a old hp case similar to the one below. i striped it down and and got it painted. i plan on cutting plexiglass to put on the side along with many, many other things. any advice/criticism is appreciated. (also first time posting pics, sorry in advance the pics don't work or are huge)

It's a bit narrower than micro-ATX. I think mATX is 9.6" square, this one looks like 9.6" tall by less than that wide.

Thats strange, if it helps it is about a 10 year old board. i'm away from home this weekend, i will measure when i get home

Flex-Atx? you could probably just google the model no. It will tell ya everything you need to know.

Ok, I will see if i can find any info on it, all i remember right know is that is is an ASUS board.

The symbol used for the prefix "micro" is the greek letter mu. Since it's not part of the English alphabet, you usually have to go searching through special symbols to find it. It closely resembles the letter "u" though, so often times it's just shorthand... u-atx or uatx is micro-atx. Yer good :)

The case will accept both micro atx and mini itx motherboards. I have the same case. I currently have a saphire fusion e350 motherboard in it. I use it as my firewall between my home network and the internet. Before that I had a MSI micro atx motherboard with a Duron in it.

*edit* My case says HP Pavilion 310n on the front of it. I just measured the width of the micro atx motherboard I had in there and it was 8.5 inches wide. The board was a MSI MS-6378

Wow, thanks for the great response! Also, my case said xt923. I think it had a celeron in it :)

Its micro ATX, but be careful when selecting a PSU for it. If the CD-Rom is full length, you can only fit a SFX PSU, if you use a short length optical, then you can get away with most ATX psus.

Ah, thanks, glad I didn't have to find that one out the hard way! As far as the case I might be able to get some work done tonight, I guess I will find out when I get home.
