Hey guys! I finally managed to grab some benchmarks of my new setup. Wondering about my scores though.. THEY SEEM LOW! Probably because of my video card, right? Let me know what you think, and what I could do to bring the scores up a bit.

Athlon 64 3500+ socket 939
Asus A8V Deluxe
Power Color Radeon 9800 Pro 380/680
2x256 OCZ PC3500 EB
120gb WD SE 8mb HD

3dmark03 - 5919
3dmark01 - 19574

These seem a little low! Then again, my video card aint too great.

Thanks! Don't forget to answer my questions, please. :)

sounds like graphics card to me--more ram is always good. I got over 11000 3dmark 03's on the rig in my sig. I also have a new 6800 gt.

like MemoryInAGarden said if you've got a 128bits 9800 pro it is THE problem.
it's a crippled 9800 pro (256bits orginal)

No, it can't be the 128bit 9800 Pro, because when I bought it from Newegg, I SPECIFICALLY looked for the 256bit card.

But, how could I doublecheck?

Yeah. I guess the video card is the major part of the benchmarks.

I did manage to get some pretty good Sisoft Scores. I'll post them when I get home tonight.

I believe that sapphire is the only company that ever produced a 128-bit 9800 pro. Powercolor never did.

Also, the 128-bit 9800 pros would not even be close to these benchmark scores, especially in 3dMark01 where they are severly handicapped.

VERY interested in the SiSoft scores :)

those numbers arent too far off from what you should be getting, i get about 21000ish in 3dm01 and 7000ish in 3dm03 with my 9800pro @ 460/370(my memory sucks!!!) and my processor (a64 3000+) at 2.5ghz w/ 1gb of pc3200 and lots of tweaking

make sure you have the newest drivers for everything is all the advice i can muster, theres lots of tweaks you can try but i dont know if any of them really do much for ya (i dont have any links, youll have to google some :( )

Deng that is low... At stock my 9800 pro gets 6200, albeit mine is based on an XT core, which is a wee-bit heftier in some departments.

sounds about right, but u can get higher score with bit of tweaks.. i get 5600+ 3dmark03 with 9500np n 2500+ (@9700oc, 3200+).

just having an xt core doesent give you any better scores at stock, the scores should be the same until you flash it to an xt bios at the same speeds

They both seem a little low to me. With my 9800 clocked to 390/325 I get ~6050 in 3K, and ~20K in 01. It's the system in the sig.

I have the same setup as you, except for sapphire card (256bit) and 1 gig of ram, i get 6000+ 3dm03 and 20k+ 3dm01.

Dunno if the amount of ram makes the difference.

How is your bios setting regarding 2T command rate ? Do you have it enabled ? if so try disabling 2T command rate in bios (enabled by default), gives a good boost in ram speeds.

Shit you must be right. I'm running the Via drivers off the disc.. Maybe there's newer ones out

2t is off.
