my i7 980X is 7 years old!

Dual x5670's here purchased back in jan 2011, its had several gpu upgrades and an SSD but it does everything I need it to do, my gaming needs are not that taxing. Not sure what the next build will be but its likely to last just as long

A good reason to sometimes spend extra when you do your initial build, if you plan on keeping it for a long while. Nothing wrong with older tech though, look at the longevity the Q6600 had.

I don't have numbers for your chip, but I have my 980 OC'd in the P6T Deluxe V2 with these settings:

i7-980 stable overclock 4.250GHz
BCLK 170
Multiplier x25
CPU Voltage 1.38125
DRAM Voltage 1.66
QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.30

CPU PLL 1.8
QPI link 3060MHz

Thanks. I use a second hand 980X that replaced my 920. I use 1.30V for 4GHz.

My Xeon L5639 is still choochin' along as a domain controller and file server. Runs 48gb ram and 3.2ghz. The only reason I upgraded was because I wanted onboard sata 3.0, usb 3.0, and my friend at Intel was leaving for nvidia, so it was my last shot to get 50% off Intel.

Love my 5960 extreme, but it's definitely overkill even at stock speeds.
