[Scratch Build] Handmade chassis Project

3359ok1.jpg

Hi, i am Pablo from Argentina and i want to share a tiny log of my handmade pc.

It is made basically from a 6mm aluminium sheet, another of 3mm and an aluminium bar to do the machined spacers
I am always doing some minor tuning to my stuff but always wanted to make a full chassis with custom liquid cooling.

The hardware is:

- i7 4770k @ 4.6 ghz delidded with collaboratory liquid pro
- Asus maximus VI formula
- 16 gb DDR3 corsair dominator platinum 2400 mhz
- Ati HD 7750 a bit overclocked (I chose it because at that moment it was the best card that not require external power)
- Corsair CX600M power supply
- 256 gb Samsung 850 pro SSD for the OS
- 128 gb ocz vertex 4 SSD
- 2 Tb WD black for storage

Water Cooling:
- XSPC raystorm cpu block
- XSPC ex240 radiator
- XSPC acrylic DDC tank reservoir multiport
- Laing thermotech DDC 3.25 pump (18 w)
- Bitspower and Enzo black 19/13mm compression fittings
- XSPC high flex black 19/13mm hose
- Corsair air series SP120 quiet edition low noise high pressure

External peripherals
- Dell U2711 (2560x1440)
- Alienware Tactx Keyboard
- Logitech MX performance
- Sennheiser momentum headphones

So here it is:

This is really cool. I like the stand and the acrylic side panels. Great work.

A computer case that is a work of art. Very, very well done! :)

íExcelente mano de hobra!
Si solo estuvieses mas cerca para que me hicieras uno a mi. :)

"Nice handy work! If only you lived closer to me so you could make me one. :)"

I couldn't agree more. Fantastic job man. Looks spectacular.

That's what the ThermalTake Level 10 wanted to look like.

That's a beautiful execution. the accents of red are just perfect.:D

Saw "Handmade aluminum" and had a completely different result in mind. Fantastic job!!!

Dude, that is awesome.

Please further explain that flat black paint?
First i painted the chassis with glossy black car paint , but aluminium is hard to paint so i painted the stand with flat black spray paint that bites better the aluminium.

Pablo, that is truly a thing of beauty, excellent work!

Stunning.

Could you tell me the thickness and type of aluminum you used?
Thanks man, i used one sheet of 6mm x 500mm x 500mm aluminium, another one of 3mm x 500mm x 500mm, a round bar for the spacers and a flat bar. All of standard aluminum

the only case I've seen that I would buy other than Caselabs

really awesome..

edit: also, say hi to Lucas Matthysse for me if you ever meet him lol

Holy **ck that is badass.
Is the top cutout just for looks, or it strong enough to use as a handle?

It is projects like this that really make me want to learn more metal working. My uncle owns a machine shop and I have talked with him now and then about possibly making some custom cases and cooling devices. Problem is doing any kind of design and limited production is extremely expensive on his CNC machines.

CNC machined pieces are the best. I wish I could do my job with them, but indeed it is very expensive so here was crafted as best I could.

Definitely, the parts that come out of his shop are just simply beautiful. They have a few CNC machines and then they have a special chemical bath that smooths all the rough edges fine enough for medical grade instruments (mostly suture needles). Pretty crazy stuff, they also have some machine lathes and all the manual machine tools as well. I am not very good with the hand tools, but I am pretty good with CAD software and design. My cousin is going to school for mechanical engineering, I might see if I can get him interested in a side project at some point.

Hi, i am upgrading the cable routing, the radiator supports and the relocation of some things like the ssd and the pump

Here some pics
