My friend's XP computer is plagued by some virus/malware... cant get rid of it

Ok, now that everything is hunky dory with my friend's computer, he informs me that he cannot upload more than one file at a time in FF.

I searched the net and could not find anything regarding this issue, so I thought to ask here.

Apparently when he is attaching files in gmail, he can only do it file by file ... he cannot control click on a few files and attach them at the same time.

Any ideas?
