OK I'm hoping you guys can enlighten me / help me out on this.
Originally, I got my hands on some DDR4 (GSkill 3200) that was on sale on Jet.com figuring DDR4 = DDR4. Not being able to get it to boot at all, I look closer and see that it's x100 chipset DDR4 ... which I am now guessing is not compatible with X99 chipset DDR4.
Am I right in this? I need to get X99 specific DDR4? i.e. newer ram is not necessarily better in this case?
I see that there is a voltage difference also, which might explain the issue but that's just a guess. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
