im tired of having to have piece of shit computers from companies like dell, and so i have decided to build my own... after studying the inside of my computer and others online, i believe i have the know how to build my own. i was just wondering if somebody could look over my list of parts just to make sure everything is compatable with everything else. im 100% sure it is, but then again, this is my first time :D maybe next time i will build my own case, if i get any good.

the list was just slapped together in about 15 mins. i plan on salvaging an old comp in my room (i htink im going to salvage the HDD at this time. im actually on a tight budget)

this was just copied and pasted from word. suggestions more than welcome! also, i plan to install a water cooling unit when i get some $$$$$. i don't have 24/7 internet access so it may take a while to respond. thanks in advance for the help

either way it looks good to me, I just skimmed over it. If you are gonna use it for gaming I would choose a different video card, you can get a 6800 vanilla for around the same price.

Tend to be the cheapest crappiest unit possible with an overrated wattage stamp to make it sound good to people that don't know better. Tend to be, not always.

hm if ur on a budget id get a combo drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...rice=&MaxPrice=&SubCategory=5&Submit=Property and and a cheaper keyboard, then get a better gfx card, if u can id go for a 6800gt

if this is for gaming itd probably be better to get a amd +3000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103536 and a mobo to support it like this 1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813123243

but those are jus my recommendations :p urs looks fine 2 cept the drives, a combo would probably be better

Hwoo, definitely use a different PSU. If your cast costs $30 (plus kick your ass $15 shipping...) and comes with what they call a '450 watt' power supply, then in all likelihood (probably 99%), that PSU is crap, plain and simple. I wouldn't trust my system to a PSU that cheap.

You can get 512MB DIMMs cheaper than that Kingmax one. Look over at ZZF, you can get a single 512MB DIMM of corsair value for $47 shipped free (2nd day air).

Also, what will you be using the system for?

And if it's it your first build, just take your time and don't freak out.

I just finished a new build yesterday - Venice 3200+, Sapphire X800, Asus A8N-e, 1 GB Corsair Value, Xclio 450Watt, NEC3520, old old NEC5800 16x dvd drive, and a Seagate 7200.7 160GB drive. Turned out really nice when it was all put together, but the case I had to work with was crafted by Satan himself.

Oh well, I'm done testing it, so I'm delivering it to my friend later.

I thought this was for OEM computers?
-_- i thought i was in general hardware lol

thanks for the input guys, ill probably get a new PSU if the one in the case is crap. ill look in the 6600 card and the combo drive, and believe me, I WILL TAKE MY TIME lol. This is going to be a gerneral purpose comp, so that's why i decided to go with intel rather than amd.

EDIT: would any1 recommend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814135177?

also, im thinking of getting this PSU assuming the one i would be getting with the case is crap
