So my 2080 Ti XC Hybrid arrives tomorrow...
I have updated my mobo BIOS (ASRock Z370 fatal1ty Gaming K6), my i7-8700k is running stock (liquid cooled), have the XC BIOS ready to flash if needed and have a EVGA 1000w G1+ PSU ready to replace my 3 yr old EVGA 750w. Besides the rosary beads, crucifixes, Buddah to rub, human sacrifice to the nVidia gods, anything else I should have on hand? Only partially kidding after reading all the failures of the RTX cards.

I own six different 2080’s and haven’t had any issues with any of them, if that helps.

Sounds like quite the system! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Anecdotally it appears that the space invaders problem with RTX cards will manifest fairly quickly if it does, and that companies are aware of this issue and will rma bad cards quickly and without hassle

Looks like I won't get the card till Wed. It's been sitting at the UPS depot since Fri but UPS is only doing special Next day deliveries until Wed.

Have had it running for 5 hours now, so far no issues. idles at 25-27c, in the couple games I've tried only went up to 52c. FPS about 20-30% better than the 1080Ti Hybrid it's replacing. i7-8700k (stock), 32Gb DDR4 2400. If it's still OK by this weekend I may try some mild OC. 3DMark Timespy was 11,952 , temp never went above 50c during the run.
GPU-Z shows the memory as Micron.

Waiting for my BFV code to show up in email.

My case is a Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra, open mesh, a lot of fans, room temp about 70f.

4 days in and no issues so far. Will still wait another week or so before I sell my 1080 ti hybrid.

Happy to report it's been running fine for a week now, 8-12 hrs a day of Windows & gaming use.

Good to hear. I have an EVGA Hybrid kit coming in that I plan to put on my 2080 Ti FE. I can't wait to see the lower temps and steady boost clocks compared to the FE air cooler.

  11. I have the Hybrid, and it’s been perfect, so far.

Did you ever end up overclocking it?

  15. Barely overclocked, around 2050 core, +526 memory. I could definitely go higher as the temps sit int the high 50's to low 60's depending on ambient temp.

I've got my RTX 2080 Founders on the day they came out, and been running it under 100% load pretty much 24/7 since then. No issues detected, so yeah, that's just me.

    Doesn't OC Gpu?

:D partially joking but it's just a slider. I find it hard no to OC everything.

Why fix something that's already fine. Meh. My GeForce is doing fine under stock clocks. (factory clocks? Eh whatever, I don't care).

I didn't bother on my 1080 ti since it was more than plenty for my fps needs. Now that I'm using a 1070 I OC'd it because every bit counts.

He’s right though... overclockers is in the page name lol.

You can always pick up those minimums or set the resolution a little higher, ect. ;)

Space invaders is old news. It was first run cards. It was the Micron ram causing it many believe. If Samsung ram is on latest iterations. You'll be fine. My 2080ti with Samsung gddr6 works great.
