My connection running so slow ... 2kb/sec dl using 576k connection speed

Basically My connection is running so slow it is downloading at2kb/sec using 576k connection speed ... Anyone got any suggestions?
 
Call your ISP. I am sure there might have been some guarenteed level of service when you signed up. Either way, I would hardly call that connection speed broad band.

Yes i know im extremely disgusted. unless its due to my cabling ... i have a long extension going to the phone socket.. could this be the problem?
