Must See Video of the Day

It's like having a google maps camera on your head.... I'm sure the porn industry will exploit this some how.

Doesn't seem to fly... :p

Interesting enough though. Not sure if the video in the video was an actual representation of the camera's abilities but the stitching seemed pretty good.

Boasting about mountain view, shredding and such cools things, but all they managed to show was a bunch of people standing around a graffiti filled alley :(

Nothing new here.

Same tech as Ipix from years ago. (360* photos)

Likely this a camera with some sort of uber fish eye lens with some real time correction to compensate for the distortion.
Notice you can capture 360* video;but you can only view it the old fashion way. Through some kind of square frame.
So there is nothing revolutionary here regardless of what the hip marketing claims.

That is pretty cool. Even though you are watching the video playback on a normal screen, having the ability to spin around the view while the video is actively playing is pretty cool. Assuming that's what you can do.

I thought they were going a show a camera mounted on a fly......boy was I disappointed :D

Look at the fish bowl distortion in this video of it actually playing back on a monitor.
Resolution is pretty also.

Still the concept is an interesting one.
But to REALLY capture this massive scale of video you need super high resolution.
I think 4K would be just a start.

IF their pictures of the device aren't make believe, it appears to just be done with a hemispherical lens that distorts stuff, and some math done on the resultant video to make it... well rectilinear is probably not right.. less distorted? It might jsut transpose were 0,0 is on the grid.

Wonder how much data storage is need for this. I mean at the very least just assume a 60° by 40° field of view, and assume the bottom isn't viewable part is not viewable, then you're talking 6 x 8 frames individual movies

Another scary addition to our pending robot overlords.

That was pretty impressive though.

It used to be the military driving our technology forward. Now it's the porn industry. A welcome change!
