MSI Raider A18 - 7945HX3D + 4080 Laptop

The MSI Store had a deal that was too good to pass up. Yes, an 18" laptop is big, and the battery isn't going to last anywhere close to all day (or all morning). That's fine with me. I'm not taking it to Starbucks to leech free wifi while I write my screenplay.

The great thing about it is it runs cool. CPU/GPU temps are obviously less than the Meteor Lake/4080 Asus I returned, but what shocked me is temps in Time Spy are lower than my desktop 13600K/4090.

Results above were with the GPU at 80W. It takes some fiddling in MSI Center, but the GPU can go up to 175W. I really like that I can select the TGP, but it would be much nicer to have a clean interface with clearly labeled options. Avg GPU temp went from 53C at 80W to 61C at 175W. According to HWInfo64, the GPU never hit its max temp of 87C.
