MSI is happy to announce that the MSI R6870 Hawk is now world’s fastest HD 6870 on the market. In the hands of world-class overclocker David “THC” Trandberg his R6870 Hawk conquered the top spots in 3DMark Vantage, 3DMark06 and 3DMark05 making MSI the top brand in six out of seven official benchmarks on overclocking website HWBOT.org.

Overclocking requires the best of the best and the current records for the MSI R6870 Hawk show MSI’s dedication to build quality, engineering prowess and component quality with Military Class II. Only when all of those ingredients are of a world-class level can world-class performance be achieved.

ya well I am the best overclocker in my house, and my 6850's are the fastest in the world ever owned by me, or should I say, pwned by me.

I forget which brand they are, but they are pure 1337 sauce all up in my house.

If you're implying that holding records for an individual chipset or model is meaningless, I agree. I mean it's cool to say 'I have the fastest GeForce 256', if you're into that type of thing, but it doesn't really mean anything to me. IDK, just my two cents.

I am pretty sure they are saying that MSI builds the parts that have the ability to overclock higher than any of the competition. Though it most likely was with liquid nitrogen or dry ice, both of which are impractical for day to day use, it is a statement about build quality.
