I owned one (same exact model) for a little more than 6 months and it was rock solid and quiet under load... Just too large for my purposes

I am waiting on those new slim 1080 ultrabooks. I have an older MSI GT series and it's a great laptop but weights as much as a small child.

With the new "Max-Q" Nvidia GPUs that are as slow as the next model down? Still good power, but they charge you an extra arm for it on top of the arm and a leg for that slimness, without the full actual power of that GPU model.

Probably but I just can't deal with lugging around 8lb laptops anymore and my new job requires plenty of travel.

I'm looking forward to those when they're affordable. Nvidia + new design = crazy cost.

I am hoping they can bring them in under $2500, that would be appealing, at $2K I would probably bite the bullet.

Micro Center has a similarly-configured 17.3" for $1599: http://www.microcenter.com/product/...RD_PRO-053_173_Gaming_Laptop_Computer_-_Black
15.6" for $1499: http://www.microcenter.com/product/...rd_Pro-034_156_Gaming_Laptop_Computer_-_Black

Neither are the "Titan" SKUs, but they both have 120Hz screens, 7700HQs, a larger SSD, and 1070s. I guess it comes down to whether someone wants the HK CPU.
Decent prices!

Honestly, with these laptops the CPU is now the weakest link now that they have (more or less) desktop level GPUs - so getting one that you can overclock is a boon for longevity.

Microcenter doesn't want my money.
