so i bought a 250gb WED caviar black - i know about the shock sensor issue, I will disable it.

whats the easiest way to replicate my current drive - original 120gb to the new one?

1. use a external enclosure with your new drive in it.

2. either use 'carbon copy cloner' or 'superduper!' software to clone over to the new drive.

3. ????

4. replace drive inside machine with new cloned drive from enclosure. (Profit.)

thanks! using CCC right now

i also have a boot camp of Vista, i hope i can clone that on as well, without having to partition the new drive

yeah, that ones a bit harder to get around...

generally you can do a backup within windows to an external drive, then just restore from it after partitioning and re-installing the os on the new drive, but there isn't a way to grab both partitions at the same time unfortunately, requires some finagling.
