I moved my hard drive from my raid controller to my standard IDE controller, and now it wont boot. I was using the raid (Highpoint HPT372 i believe, built in to my KR7A Raid) as just extra ide channels. I need to rearrange the placement of the hard drives, and if i move the drive with windows on it to a standard ide, i get the message "Error loading operating system". How can i get windows xp to boot without having to reinstall the entire os? I've tried using the recovery console, but I didn't see any options that would fix this particular issue. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ryan

Drop your XP disk in and boot from it. Tell it new install. At some point it will see the old install and ask if you want to fix it. Say yes and it will repair the old install. All your programs and settings will be saved.
