Does anyone know of a good range extender for an 802.11b router? Right now I can’t get a strong signal from my basement to the top floor of my house.

Preferably I would just like to upgrade my router as this one is getting old IMO but I don’t know if that would solve my problem.

Most AP's cost as much as just getting a new router. I personally would get a g or draft-n router instead of sticking to your b network. Of course, you might need new adapters on your computer/s but the speed and range are superior. If you just simply want to pop an access point on the first floor to help in your current situation, I would get this:

I would also recommend the DIR-655, I have been running one at my house for three weeks now in place of a WRT54G that was running DD-WRT. The range/speeds are MUCH better. As well, if you get it and upgrade to the 1.04 firmware the router is 802.11n Draft 2 compliant
