Since I got tethering on my cellphone I would like to bring my netbook along to be my main pc on the go.. to do that it needs upgrades for sure.
Msi Wind L1350
Intel Atom N450 1.66ghz
1gig of ram
160gig wd scorpio hd
3 cell battery

First thing i've been looking at is ram, right now it has 1gig but i want it to have at least 2 gigs for comfortable usage. I'm being told conflicting things by multiple sources.. many online sites tell me it can take up to 2gigs.. others say max of 1gig.. one guy at frys says 1gig also.. another at frys says 2gigs.. at this point I dunno the max for it, help?

For storage I need at least a 90gig or larger ssd for all my documents + os/software, what brands are good right now?

the arom itself supports a maximum of 2g; unless MSI deliberately crippled it a 2gb dimm will work.

Yup. Atom processors support a max of 2gb of ram. My Gateway netbook came with 1gb and I put a 2gb in it. Helped quite nicely.

I bought a 40gb SSD, and seeing by what you are saying that's too small for you. I went with an Intel SSD (see my sig)
