Hey guys, I'm looking for a monitor to match my BenQ FP241V. I really like the way some of you have the 20/30/20 setup and I was wondering what would the equivalent be for a 24 inch 16:10 widescreen? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Any idea where I can get my hands on one? I didn't even know 4:3's were available anymore.

I'm looking at going this same route. I have two Dell Ultrasharp 2007FP's (4:3 1600x1200) and highly recommend them. There not great for gaming but that's what your 24" is for now isn't it? :D

Welll I like the 20/30/20 setup, but I suppose it would be hard to find something like a 17' widescreen. I wouldn't mind a 4:3 monitor that matches the side length. I'm just a little confused as to what size of a monitor I need.

You can find out by doing a simple calculation.(assuming that a pixel is a perfect square : width = height)
A 16:10 monitor with a diagonal size of 24 inch = 60.96cm = 51.69cm (width) x 32.30cm (height).
You can use simple trigonometry to find the width and height given the aspect ratio and the length of the diagonal.

This means you have to either find a monitor with a width of 32.30cm if you are going to use it in the portrait mode, or a monitor with a height of 32.30cm if you want to use it in the landscape mode.

Again using trigonometry this means

Portrait mode:
Either a 38.08cm ~ 15 inch monitor with a 16:10 aspect ratio OR a
40.37cm ~ 15.89 (16) inch 4:3 monitor.
I guess the closest you can buy is a 17” 4:3 monitor.

Landscape mode :
another 24" 16:10 (obvious) or a
53.83cm ~ 21.19" 4:3 monitor

From these calculations it seems the closest matching monitor for you would be a 21" 4:3 monitor in landscape mode.
