Monitor for watching the baby. Thoughts and input.

Hello all. Was wondering if I could grab some input/ideas from you with regards to watching a baby. My wife and I want a setup in which we could watch our baby day or night and remotely if possible. I've looked at baby monitors themselves but was wondering if a webcam is better? Secure? Was hoping to be able to check the feed from my phone as well.

If anyone has done something like this all help would be greatly appreciated. Ty.
 
people probably going to need your budget to fully help you.....i will admit seems there's a lot a cameras to choose form these days as i was thinking of putting one at my front door
 
so many models with pan and tilt as well.....and that seems super pricey for what he needs
 
Depending on your insurance, you may be entitled to a free conventional baby monitor. Saved us a cool $200
