Hey all, currently play my Xbox on a 1080 Samsung TV that is pretty old but 65 inches. Was wanting to move it over to playing alongside my PC setup and on a smaller monitor but I'm concerned getting a 4k monitor will make it hard for my computer to keep up as I only have a 1050ti and still need to upgrade processor and ram. Is it possible to play 4k resolution when playing on xbox but then lower for when I play PC? Sorry if this is a terrible question lol

Thanks for any advice

Yes, you can set non-native resolutions on any monitor in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Look at the specs of supported resolutions to be sure. All 4K displays should be able to do 1920x1080. You'll lose some image quality compared to a native 1080p panel.

you don't even need to set resolutions in nvidia control panel.
1050ti is more than capable of running Windows in 4k for non-gaming desktop mode. You''ll appreciate all the screen real estate.

and when you play games, just set the resolution in the game itself

I personally use windowed mode in games, so I can see other shit in the other 3 quadrants of my screen, like gaming while watching porno

Haha thanks for the replies so I would be able to let's say hit a nice 24 or 27 inch 4k HD monitor for my xbox one x to enjoy the benefits of that plus be able to play pubg and a couple PC games running at a lower resolution... I am stoked on it cant wait to have a decent dual combo setup!
