Modern Warfar 2 is running slow

The hard drive is constantly accessing and it slows the system down.

My specs:

2GB RAM
SLI Board
AMD Opteron CPU (3.GHz)
nVIDIA 8800GT OC
Win7 Ultimate
150GB WD Raptor Hdd

Running the game in 1920x1200, no AA at all, the textures are maxed.

That'd do it...

Turn textures down. See if there are any background processes chewing up memory. Might help to turn off Win7's prefetch.

And FFS, buy some more RAM

Your CPU is slow and your video card is not uber. So lower the resolution and lower the texture sizes. Even on this crossfire dual 4850 setup I run at 1280x720 just to make sure everything goes smoothly. You should be just fine then.

8800GT @ 1920x1200 is a bit high for that card. And as others have mentioned your CPU & RAM are also lacking.

Might be time to consider upgrading if you want to play the latest games at that rez.

I had the same problem, my specs are similar to yours too. Fixed it by taking Texture settings off Auto; I set textures to extra and the normal & specular to high.

Turn AA off
Make sure Textures are at auto
Run the game at 1280x720.

You should be fine.
