I currently have an evga gtx 480. Im going to be buying another for Sli

i have this card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130552&cm_re=480gtx-_-14-130-552-_-Product

for the same price i could buy the GIGABYTE Super Overclock Series
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125350&cm_re=480gtx-_-14-125-350-_-Product

Would i be better off to sli matching cards or would mixing these two be fine.

I Figure for games that don't have sli profiles on release the faster card would be nice.

So would it be fine to sli the two with such different Clocks, I assume the faster would down-clock in sli mode?

No problems. Beginning with the 260 drivers, the cards can keep their unique clocks and you can change them to match each other - up or down.

Here is a review that does what you want to do but with a Galaxy SOC GTX 480 and a reference GTX 480

Make sure at least one card is an external exhaust, if the cards have no room between one another in SLI the cooling solutions may not work.
