I'm kinda surprised nobody noticed, nobody sent in a News article or anything, but it's Microsoft Windows' 25th birthday. I was going to do a "megapost" of various info and links and whatnot but, alas, Paul Thurrott over at Windows SuperSite has done an admirable job of covering the basics and history of Windows, and his personal experiences (as he writes in the article) mirror mine and I'm sure they mirror those of many others too:

It changed the world of modern computing, both on an infrastructure and a personal level, and it continues to do so to this day.
Happy Birthday, Windows, and here's to 25 more.
