Businesses in the UK are about to get a double whammy. Due to the fact that the pound has fallen, Microsoft is said to be raising their prices for some enterprise services by up to twenty two percent. So, not only is your money worth less, MS wants more of it. Ouch.

Microsoft plans to increase prices for some enterprise services by up to 22 percent in Britain following the plunge in the pound, likely hitting thousands of companies and government departments who rely on its cloud and software products. Microsoft said it would increase prices for its enterprise software by 13 percent and for its cloud services by 22 percent from Jan. 1 next year, becoming the latest tech company to raise fees in the wake of the vote to leave the European Union.

Historically, the GBP was about 1.6 USD, but currently is about 1.2 USD. That represents nearly a 25% drop in value of the GBP against the USD. 22% rate hike is just accounting for the difference, since MSFT is a US company. Not a true raising of prices, just the reality of international trade across disparate currencies.

Not really a "double whammy." It's more like because your money is worth less, Microsoft -- and presumably any US company -- wants more of it.

Should I explain the same thing a third time, or is that not the thing we're doing here?

they are just basing their cost off of the US dollar which since the pound is worth less now means that you have to pay.... oh wait this was already covered wasn't it. fuck. ;)

Boo fucking hoo, same shit we're dealing with here in Canada. Dollar low, economy is shit, prices are increasing on just about everything because weak dollar.
