Microcenter shows 13600K $320, 13700K $440, 13900K $650 available on 10/20

That 13600k is tempting! Harder to justify the price jumps going up unless you have a need for that many threads. $120 for 2 more pcores, or double the cost for 8 more ecores and 2 more pcores... I think 13600k will be best bang for the buck.

I'll probably grab a 13600K and unlike the Zen4 slow sales I think the Raptor Lake CPU's will sell well.

is it worth jumping to the 13900k off the bat? I have a system just waiting on CPU that I am building. Will slide my gtx 1060 over till after xmas then shoot for an rtx 3080 or 3090 used...

If all the "info" holds true, this will be Intel's "punch back" to AMD. It's a lot. A lot.

Yes. The platform is a dead end and no CPUs will be coming out for it. So get the best you can afford/want/need.

There's always the overpriced 13900KS that will likely come out after AMD drops X3D!

MicroCenter just finalized launch day prices to $399.99 13700K and $569.99 13900K (instead of $429.99 and $659.99 respectively). Value proposition of 7950X at $699.99 looks a little worse now.

At the 13900K's original retail $659.99, I wasn't going to bother - 13700K was a no-brainer. But now I'm contemplating 13900K, for the extra cache and potentially higher binned IMC.

Replying to self. Noting that the "impressive" stuff is NOT the 13900K (due to it's power demands).

I still say the 13900K is impressive! I’ve moved fully over to AMD due to platform support but Intel brought it!

i picked up the 13900k @ my local MC for 569 and it is a nice upgrade from the 12900KS i had. Im now @ 7000MT/s for my ddr5 and 5.8GHz all core OC at very good voltage. Ecore are finally decoupled from ring so they clock better and ring clocks higher too. all around very nice upgrade.
