[MICROCENTER] I9 10900KF $329.99 Store pick up only

Just got back and wrapped up my sister's upgrade. They had a limit of 1 CPU per household even though they allowed her to reserve both the i7-10700F and i5-10400. Since we went together, I just told them that the i5-10400 was for me, then offered to showed them ID to prove that I don't live with my sister... Cashier didn't care to check, but still rang it up as 2 separate transactions, which my sister paid both on the same credit card.

The before tax damage was $219 for the i7-10700F, $199 for the Z590 Aorus Elite board, $149 for the i5-10400 and $109 for a 1TB Inland Premium NVMe SSD. She ordered this MSI MPG B460L Gaming Edge ITX board from Newegg earlier in the week, which arrived yesterday. Build went smoother than expected, very pleased so far.

Yeah she never really grew out of using stickers..

10900K for $400 or keep the 10900KF for $330? Or go get the 10850K for $320? Going to build this weekend. Just having doubts RE: not having an integrated GPU (which I have NEVER used on my 9900KS) in light of the global GPU shortage looking at it as a "nice to have" - but the $70 difference is quite huge when you factor total cost (21% more expensive). Take me off the ledge? :)

Keep the 10900k. $70 more for piece of mind if something happens to your graphics card. $70 alot cheaper then buying anything if you ever need to.

Got a kick out of Newegg's 11900K pricing today, considering the $329 I just got a 10900k for from MC.

I may still get a 11700k/11600k eventually just to mess around with high memory OC's, since the IMC is purportedly even stronger in Rocket Lake. Also curious what Microcenter's Rocket Lake pricing will be ($599 / $399, I reckon).

Wow, that 11900k box looks really stupid.

My MC is showing availability to pre-order i7-11700K@$400 and i5-11600K@$270 for pickup in-store March 30th

This is a great price but, can you imagine how much it would be if AMD was not competitive?

AMD being competitive is the best that could happen to us consumers... Hopefully Intel will release series 12(?) of cpus at the end of this year, taking (real) 10nm and ddr5 support to the field...

I doubt we will see DDR5 this year.

Alder lake is rumored to come out the fall. I don't see the point for me to upgrade to AM4 Zen3 or 10900k/11900k when the socket is EOL. I'm waiting for 12900k at this point.
