Wrong. While not many, there are games worth playing that don't make it to PC. Rdr2 will make it eventually, but for now PC players are missing out on a remarkable game. Im also extremely excited for kingdom hearts 3 later this month.

If someone had a pc for the majority of their gaming and needed a console to fill in the gaps, PS4 Pro would get my vote for its exclusives. That being said, someone without a capable PC who only games on consoles, or someone not interwsted in Sony titles, Xbox One X is by far the better experience. (No fanboyism here, i own them all). Again with RDR2 as an example, its remarkable how good that game looks on a console. I wouldn't take a hard swing towards any console, they all have merrit.

Also the artical is semi-fud. They have essentially deemed all Microsoft titles as non-exclusive because Microsoft decided to start supporting PC gamers again. They almost make being more pro consumer sound like a bad thing. Forza Horizon 4 was an outstanding release last year, and in the console spectrum, was an Xbox exclusive.

Like I said, if you do own a gaming pc, you would not need an xbone as you should be able to run the games. Nintendo or Sony got you covered for everything else. Just because the PS4 Pro isn’t as good as the Xbone X, it’s good enough, plus you get the benefits of a wide array of games not named halo or gears

Gaming PC + PS4 Pro + Nintendo Switch is the current master race.

That fixes his not knowing how to quote how? If you have to defend a product you use because someone else uses something different you have already lost. You guys play your PlayStation 4 and I will continue on with my Xbox one x.

Let’s not throw console war stones, the Xbox One is a glass house you don’t want do that in.

All they are saying is that a PC, Switch and PS4 Pro is the trifecta. There is no game worth noting you can only play on an Xbox One.

I love the fact that MS is trying new stuff with PC and XBO releases and game pass. Their failures this generation won’t happen with the next generation. They are acquiring the studios and have the hardware experience now. The Xbox One X is a gorgeous piece of hardware. After opening up my PS4 Pro 4 times to clean it and repaste its night and day. Japanese hardware design should move over for something like they did in the X.

That said, “IF” they continue with that PC/XBO policy then I can’t honesty say how it plays out for them moving forward. For me, it seems like they are giving up a lot of opportunity costs (if that’s the right way to state it). They’ll still move consoles but how many people would buy their console if they have a capable PC? It’s a question I’m curious to find out the answer to.

I for one would like to speculate that at some point in the future the major players in the console game will have a software package that you can just install on your own machine. Think of it as a software-as-a-service that you can drop on certified hardware. This would definitely allow their respective ecosystems to grow and it may reduce the amount of capital involved in designing and manufacturing their own hardware.

At least I would like to be able to install some shitty Microsoft Xbox OS, or Sony xmb bullshit on another partition to play exclusives that should have been released on the PC in the first place. All of this is x86-based now anyways, is it not?

Please let me know if I am retarded.

At that point "console makers" would cease to sell hardware and just sell games... so basically Steam or Windows store? This basically already exists. I think there will always be a market for common discrete hardware though, it's just so much easier for the tech averse to buy a box that works and people will pay for that convenience. Besides, too much variation and you might as well be programming for existing PC standards.

    So, Windows 10? /rimshot

Xbox One X/S is one of the few media streamers I am aware of with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Niche home theater use but it's the main reason I have one vs. a PS4.

I do like the easy interoperability between Windows and the Xbox app as well.

I don’t think that would work for Sony and Nintendo. For MS maybe, given they already have the Windows store. Sony is getting a truckload of cash from PSN and accessories. I believe they are now making a decent profit off hardware too.

They would be giving all of that up if they went third party.

Nintendo could probably go third party and not take a gigantic hit like Sony but with the Switch’s success I don’t see that happening now.

Releasing an installable OS seems like it would be easily hackable.

We have to understand that MS only releases on PC, has GamePass and backwards compatibility because of their position in the market. If we look at the sales data we don’t see a large increase after the announcements through today. So while those are great additions it doesn’t move the neddle.

I don’t have data for GamePass but I’d imagine it’s a Cash Cow now but that’s only with the base, it’s not bringing in more hardware sales.

That leaves games/marketing for improving hardware sales.

This headline is misleading as the article even states. They didn't count any game that was released on both the Xbox and Windows store as that isn't "exclusive". However every game that Microsoft makes going forward is a cross play title that works on both windows 10 and the Xbox. Therefore there is nothing that would ever be considered an exclusive and thus they will have no good games as you are not have many none cross play titles being released.

I didn't quote you because I didn't want to, there was no point to quoting something longer than my post that was inherently worthless.

I'm still writing something inherently worthless but by petition so /shrugs, here it's, you're wrong and your post was worthless.

It seems nobody understands or talks to console gamers anymore. The compelling reason to buy an Xbox One S/X is if the majority of your friends own Xbox. And you sure as sugar ain't going to convince all your friends to run out and spend a fortune buying gaming PCs. There is a small chance they could convince their friends to all trade in their stuff for PS4. Maybe. Fat chance if their parents struggled to buy that stuff to begin with. Its really that simple.
