I have a Dell D600 laptop with 2x256MB PC2100 ram. I'm wondering, would pc3200 sodimm work in the laptop? I know desktop pcs can take like pc5200 and just under clock it and tighten up the latency. Is that possible with laptops? Would pc3200 work?

It's possible. Just make sure it's not pc2-3200. I've seen older laptops requiring pc100 refuse to take most pc133's though, so ymmv still. But I'd imagine it should be fine. It might even run at pc2700

I should also note that I'm not going to mix different memory modules together. I'll sell the pc2100 and purchase 2x512MB or 1x1024MB of pc3200 sodimm.
