Memory frequency and divider, will I see any performance gain?

Hey folks,

I'm finally able to get my e8400 stable at 3.8 Ghz. Probably stop it at here for a while. Right now I'm running a 475 FSB with a 1:1 ram divider and an 8x multi. 475 x 8, 3.8Ghz, ram running at 475, with timings of 5-5-5-15.

My question is, would I be better off running, 423 x 8, 3.8Ghz, and using a 5:2 divider, allowing my memory to run at 523 Mhz.

I ask, because my stock ram speed is 1066 Mhz.

I''ve been hearing that a 1:1 is better, but I would like to confirm. (I've tried tightening the timing at 475 to 4-4-4-12 with no luck)

1:1 isn't necessarily better. RAM speed with Core 2 systems doesn't make all that much of a difference altogether, but if you want to get the maximum amount of performance possible, using a divider to boost your RAM speed would be faster than running 1:1.
