So sad that MMLL died. MWO could never replace it.

I wish theyd just come out with a new goddamn MW game. fuck all this mmo nonsense.
DX11.
Well, don't get your hopes up: it runs about as well as DX9 and looks no different. Though TXAA does become available with DX11.

i tried since the alpha test today. wow, did the controls get shittier?
Really? I used to play MW:LL for hours every day but I got burned out after a while. After MWO launched I installed Living Legends again to see how it had progressed while I was away and it was just plain bad in comparison. It wasn't the developers fault. I think the older version of CryEngine they were using was hit and miss for a proper adaptation of the universe. Neither of them are perfect to how I imagine it in my head (more so from the novels than the tabletop). So sad that MMLL died. MWO could never replace it.

I enjoy the game for what it was. I was thinking "oh, ill support them and buy a madcat" ITS FUCKING 30 DOLLARS FOR ONE!!!!! on that note... I think its fun. My dad and I play every once and awhile for shits and giggles (we loved MW2 and 3)
edit: But wait, theres more!!! If you go to the homepage and click on the big "gift shop now open" I can buy a madcat for 18 bucks.... So confused. Id rather spend 18 than 20.
That was the original intent though. When they purchased the rights to the game the early teaser and all that was that it would be a single-player game. It wasn't until a year later or whatever when the information started trickling in that they could only get the cash backing they needed to develop it if they made it into a MMO. Nothing would have happened at all if they had held out hoping to make Mechwarrior 5.This X1000. We haven't got a proper MechWarrior game since 4:Mercs. How long has that been, 13 years?!
damn me........i watched a youtube video and i got sucked into installing the game again.
I stopped playing a few months ago...I need to get back into it but I'm afraid because of the massive changes the made lately.
That and it is still just laser vomit...Everything else is not needed, just pack on the lasers. They really need to make a real heat scale or figure out how to get the other weapons to be viable to use.
i haven't played since....alpha?its a lot better, way better. to where they promised what it would be few years ago.

Welcome to Battletech in the 3050 era with double heatsinks. The same problem exists in the tabletop. I wish they hadn't chosen this time line for MWO![]()
but it isn't table top...they could stray away from it to make the game better. Continuing to translate a table top game into a 3d shooter doesn't work.
the vomit is really because the heat scale just doesn't work. There is no consequence for building up heat and WAY to easy to large alpha without shutting down. 40+ damage alphas shouldn't happen and definitely shouldn't happen in quick succession.
