Maya Performance: Desktop cards vs Workstation cards??

I play a lot of games, but I also do some 3D modeling with Maya. I just got my 8800GTS not too long ago and I was wondering if anyone new of place where I could see performance reviews of desktop vs workstation cards in 3D apps. Specifically, with an 8800GTS and in Maya. I am curious to see how the 8800 stacks up against workstation cards in Maya.

Desktop cards suck at maya.. My xtx 1900 is outperformed by my Quadro FX540 in view ports.. And in Vista its really abysmal..
