I'm running an FX8350 in an Asus M5A88M. Yeah, it's an mATX mobo, but I don't like it.
I want to replace it. Why? Because of the damn flashing light that Asus uses when the computer is sleeping. If the zombie apocalypse occurs before I can swap the mobo out, sure, I can unplug the case LED or just tape over it, but that's only if the zombie horde is approaching. In the meanwhile, I can only prepare...
Searching, I've found plenty of ATX motherboards, but not many mATX. Is the FX dead already?
(The M5A88M is not offered anymore. Probably because complaints of all the light flashing which, as we all know, attracts zombies.)
The real reason is to put the FX8350 into an HTPC enclosure (Fractal Node 605 or Silverstone Grandia GD09) and make a gaming/streaming computer in my entertainment center. The damn flashing light will be distracting...
Thanks,
Ken
