Mass Effect installation?

I just got Mass Effect, and to say the least, I'm very disappointed with EA. When I install the game, in a matter of seconds I get the famous "saferun.exe cannot be written" error. I've googled it and tried everything I've read, no fixes still. Can anyone help me out or am I going to just have to call EA and bitch to them about the stupid securrom? Man this pisses me off. If I pay for a game, it should work.

what anti-virus or spyware software are you running? I'd try disabling and re-installing.

I'm using Nod32 and I've basically tried everything. When I manually try to extract the archives, I get a "corrupted" error. ARGH!

Anyone? This is killing me. I might just try and get the disc replaced.

You might try to return it, since it's defective. Then you could try the Steam version, if you don't mind the download.
