Mass Effect: EA corrects Fox.

Sometimes when I watch these news people talk about subjects like this it makes me wonder if they actually live in this world.

That one lady says something along the lines of "What happened to Atari, pinball, etc..." and the funny thing about that is she is too young. The Atari was long gone by the time she learned what a video game is.

I believe it's more along the lines of "some people do not think like I do and that is why society is going downhill" or "It's for the children". All too common among politicians.

At least they acknowledged it was rated M.
 
The news and other media's goals seem to be "Scare the shit out of you so you'll watch." What better way to do that than with video games (something relatively new to entertainment) with SEX (think of the children!) and how its OUT OF CONTROL!! (Holy shit, we dont know anything about video games! That means theyre made out of Satan's blood!)

Honestly, they know this attracts attention.

The reviews of Ms. Lawrence's book at Amazon (which is linked from her own site) are absolutely hilarious. These will probably be deleted soon but I got my laughs in already. :D

So I gave this a one star review because I have never read this book, much like she has never played Mass Effect, and yet she said it was bad for kids.

She did NOT play Mass Effect, she did NOT research her points. So I will NOT read her book and give it a low rating so that no one will buy her book.

Cooper Lawrence is to be commended for this candid and graphic exploration of her extensive sexual experience. From her early teenage years working at "Uncle Sherman's Bestiality Ranch" in Las Cruces, to her latest exploits as a media prostitute for Fox News, with many hilarious and vividly described chapters in between, Ms. Lawrence is never afraid to "bare it all."

The "goat slapping" chapter was particularly good.

I think the included pornographic DVD and "spank rag" were nice touches. The rag is a bit small, but not enough to keep this book from getting five stars and a place on my bookshelf next to my well-worn copies of Hustler.

I haven't actually read this but I'm under the impression that it is nothing but pernicious, misogynistic pornography of the lowest order. I'm told that there are explicit sexual passages where women debase themselves for the pleasure of men and reveal themselves to be nothing more than toys for men's sexual gratification. Experts say that books like these actually deform women's and men's minds and lead them down the road toward violent sexuality, rape and perversity. In fact, I'm not sure why we allow books at all. Who can trust them if they're not monitored for offensive content by a government agency? Is this book rated? How will we keep it out of the hands of children?

i haven't read this book. But since the cover is a picture of a woman posing provocativley, one can only assume the rest of the book consists of graphic nudity and sex. also, my research shows that everyone who reads goes on to commit murder. sorry coop', but i've got to go by the facts.

That's just the latest two pages. There are several more, most of which give the book only one star and are very well written sarcasm.

The game is rated M. Stores really do check for ID now. If kids are getting their hands on this game, then it is the result of poor parenting.

Besides, are parents really so naive to think that even a thirteen or fourteen year old hasn't seen full frontal nudity? :rolleyes: Porn isn't hard to get. Childreen younger than this don't even make the teen rating. Not saying teen games are necessarily unfit, but I believe my point is getting across.

What I really enjoy is how even though gamers can be total jerks to each other during a match of Call of Duty 4 for example, everyone will band togethor to own anyone who threatens our sub-culture.
