I wasted $60 on the PS3 version of this POS!?
I'll elaborate, the game play is not intuitive, it's difficult to see what the heck is going on in a fight involving 50+ enemy (on the first stage I might add), I didn't find out until the second stage I had access to other powers by holding R2 down, and hitting the appropriate button, you cannot tell who needs a med pack besides them blinking red on their portrait (they could be blinking because they have only half energy, or taking damage).
The character detail looks rushed and half arsed (what is with Iron Mans cod piece, does it need that much protection or is he just well endowed that it needs extra storage space?), environment looks okay I guess.
I don't know what Marvel were thinking, did they market the release hoping to steal some profit from DC's Batman, was it meant to be released later, who knows I'm going with the former theory myself, as it looks rushed, even the recording quality of the voice overs sounds tinny and like it was recorded on someones phone.
I don't know maybe I have had my standards and expectations raised for comic book based games by Batman: Arkham Asylum (which is not only the best Batman game ever, but one of the few comic book based games I can say is bloody good), or maybe because I know that Freedom force an almost 8 year old game is a far better game and got the comic book theme and feel just right, you can see what is happening on screen without having to try and figure out the controls at the same time, and the same with the 3rd Reich sequel.
Honestly spend a fraction of the $49 that you have saved for Marvels UA2, and buy the double pack of Freedom Force on steam for PC (sorry consoles, I guess your not worthy of this gem) for $7.49 at the moment.
Right I'm off to set fire to this abomination.
