At work we have some departments that use laptops that are chained down to the desks. These laptops tend to go into hybernate mode and we are unable to take remote contoal of them (using Altiris) or push updates to them.

I know in Windows 2000/XP Power Options are User Specific, but I wanted to know if there was a way to set them as machine specific so the laptops will remain on 24/7 so we can push updates and such. We are currerntly using Windows 2000 SP 2, and are going to XP Pro SP 1 very soon. Thanks.
