Luck on early upgrades?

I have Sprint currently and I am having some issues with my phone. I got the Pixi originally and loved it when it worked but the problem was every 2-3 weeks it'd stop working properly and I'd have to return it. So I tried the Pre (bought one cheap off someone) and it's looking like the same deal there as well. So I'm waiting on either the Samsung Galaxy S to come over here or possibly the Evo 4G. The problem is I have probably 18 months before I can upgrade.

Has anyone had any luck getting an upgrade early out of Sprint? If all I can do is keep getting Pres or Pixis (which have always exhibited the same behavior as the ones I'm replacing) then I think I'll have to leave Sprint (which I Don't want to do) because it's extremely inconvenient.
