Hi
So I have an question I hope someone will be able to help me with. Im interested in buying a HBA card:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816118142

It seems on the compatibility list that it supports up to 8TB drives. I've been in contact with LSI support and they have told me the product is EOL and refers me to the compatibility list.

So my question is, is anyone running this card with 10/12TB drives?

All help is appreciated

As far as I know the maximum supported size for your RAID Controller is 8 TB. I did not deal with the larger disks on this RAID controller.

I'm using a 9211-16e (ebay $25) with 3/4/5 TB drives in HBA (non-raid) mode.
Can't imagine why 12TB drives shouldn't work.

So I talked to guy at 45drives and this card do support 12TB drives without any issues. LSI just want us to buy the much more expensive card when this card works perfect thought its EOL.
45drives do offer them in their cases.

HBA/IT mode either supports >2.2TB drives or doesn't, there is no arbitrary size after the 32bit limit that stops working other than the 10 zettabytes or whatever it is for 64 bit drive block addressing. I know RAM is different due to actual hardware address bits stopping somewhere in the 40s on current cpus.

RAID controllers (IR) might be different due to shitty onboard code.
