Lots of crackling with my new sound card.

I got a X-Fi Titanium sound card but every now and then I'll hear some annoying crackling. I have updated to the latest drivers but it hasn't really helped. Granted, this doesn't happen TOO often, but when it does it's annoying as hell.
 
dang, I wanted to get that card, anyone knows if it also has issues with GA-EP43-DS3L
 
Azureth, are you multitasking when the crackling happens, or just playing music only or watching a movie or playing a game? What program are you hearing the crackling in and what quality is the audio? Did the crackling start recently? If so, what were the last changes to your system hardware?

If you aren't noticing performance problems on the machine during other tasks... my first guess would be a bad cable or you need another GB of ram.
