The group that claimed they were behind the DDoS attacks on several gaming platforms and networks appears to have been taken down. Just in time for you to work on your Season 1 Leapquake Crusader build in Diablo 3!

The DDoS attacks started back on 23 August and the situation got more serious when SOE’s John Smedley’s flight was diverted after a bomb threat. Attacks continued for a few more days with both Twitch and League of Legends being hit. There was also a threat of an attack of some kind during PAX during an AMA session.

Once they made a bomb threat, it was just a matter of time. That is taken a lot more seriously than DDoS attacks.

They bought this upon themselves. They're likely to get the maximum as they will be paraded around as examples of what you get for making bomb threats.

What the hell were they doing this for anyway? Just what reason could they have?

I hope and pray that each and everyone of them is violated in the most intimate of ways, I'm mean truly impediment inducing and life changing violation.

Oh, and I guess it's just a matter of time till we will hear about the poor and unfortunate cases of Aspergers. What do you guys think half or the whole group?

I hope that you or the people you love never become victims of rape. It might just change your life and mind, and make you realize how wrong your posts like that are.

I keep confusing Lizard Squad with Broken Lizard.

No matter how good you are at covering up your tracks, there's always someone that's better than you that can uncover you. Idiots brought this upon themselves. Hope they get a few years in jail and have their conviction televised.

In the immortal words of Daniel Tosh, "Wouldn't it be funny if that girl got raped by like, 5 guys right now? Like right now? What if a bunch of guys just raped her..."

Relax, and get over the Politically Correct Bullshit! It does no one any good.

PS. I really do wish the "Lizard Crew" to be violently raped......repeatedly.

I don't particularly want them to be raped, but I accept that there is prolly a higher than normal chance they will be.

I do want them to suffer the full punishment available under the law, provided they are justly convicted of the crime(s) they actually committed.

Doesn't calling in a bomb on an airplane constitute a pretty serious stay at a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison?

Not to mention all the hassle to us fiending gamers and revenue lost to said games, ISPs, and services such as Twich - their streamers as well.

All good rape jokes aside my half drunk self just had to point out that leapquake is a barbarian build...

I hope they get maximum punishment as a warning to the other internet kids out there who think it's cool to DDOS and make false police report on others.

Was just about to say the same thing...I'd expect a casual to make such a mistake but not one of the [H] elite...filthy casuals :p

Threatening to bomb a plane before take off in the US? Are you kidding? They will throw them in the darkest dungeon or label them as terrorists and straight to Gitmo. The very last thing you wanna do as a criminal in the US is that very thing. Even as a joke/troll.

The DDOS is normal. It happens every day and its virtually impossible to get everyone involved (or sometimes anyone). The best thing to do is mitigate it and yes there are ways of doing so (not having your data center in one location is a big factor , having all the latest known security holes closed and hiring an outside company to secure you like Cloudflare).

Twitch got attacked but dealt with it pretty well. Sony obviously is being extremely cheap and pathetic with its server infrastructure and I doubt they will take away anything from these attacks. Microsoft hardly suffered at all , 20-30 minute outage that quickly fixed itself. Microsoft though has massive data centers across the planet and can take DDOS better than most corporations. Sony again continues its growing attitude of laziness towards securing its data centers and coping with attacks.

Can't expect much IQ out of a group who's main form of "hacking" is DDOS and posting threats to the public on twitter.

And it is all retaliation because a streamer didn't write "Lizard on ya forehead" or whatever pre-pubescent shit they were doing.

"too much time on our hands" - now you will spend your "too much time" time staring at a wall

"we have lives" - Not any more

According to the source, while the feds were certainly on the hunt, a rival group started posting all of the personal details of the Lizard Squad "leaders" in Pastebin, which probably assisted the investigation. Links are in the source article.

Ah I see, a rival group was involved. The "no honor among thieves" saying seems to come to mind here. :p

For me, I couldn't stand Daniel Tosh. Didn't think he was funny at all and was just regurgitating crap from reddit. It wasn't until I heard his non-PC friendly stuff that I started to like him. Same with a couple other comedians.

I hope these guys get the book thrown at them.

Well on the bright side their basement dwelling asses will lose their virginity in federal prison :D

I don't get it, what do they get for making bomb threats? Are they trying to extort money?

Want to mess up your life for a long, long time? Capitalize on DDoS success by calling in a bomb threat.

Idiots.

play stupid games, win stupid prizes?

I think the bomb threat was directly related to the delay of the H1Z1 EA Release. :p

I personally think it was a bunch of bored kids looking for attention, same as one might make a high school bomb threat. Take a look at their Twitter starting on the day they went public about the ddos. They were spewing completely idiotic bullshit that is seriously straight out of 4chan, saying they supported Hamas or some shit. I mean maybe they actually did have a goal from all this, but I couldn't think of one.

So hardcore to get a bunch of friends together using script kiddie tools and rent a Bonet.

I for one am more disappointed in Black Hats/Crackers who would never stoop so low as to give script kiddies the chance to use their hard work for a popularity contest. Times have changed apparently. Insulting script kiddies seems to be the past when you can just steal there money.

Surprised it took them that long. These guys weren't exactly rocket scientists. Heck, they weren't even on the lulzsec level.
