I was just looking for a 7970, pretty budget rig now. 2600K, GA-Z68XP-UD4, 750W Gold certified Corsair PSU, TRUE cooler.

I don't really game a whole lot, but when I want to I'd like decent performance. My resolution is 1920x1200.

I have a 6870.

You're probably not going to get any of the options you mentioned for $100. The 1060 costs more like $250 to $300 new.

Best bet is probably used 7970s, like you mentioned. You might could find those for $100. Maybe also look for a 290X if you have a sufficiently meaty power supply. I bet you could find one in the $120 range. They're horribly inefficient heat/power wise, but they're still a strong card for lower resolutions.

If you can find another $50 somewhere, the extra mileage you'd get investing in a better GPU (470 480 after rebates) could make a huge difference in overall p rdormance . Might want I check the used section as well, bargains can be found!

This is impressive, $165 plus $5 shipping with $20 rebate = $150 for his rx 480 4gb found on pchoud.com

Don't know what's "decent performance" for you, but at that resolution a gtx970 or equal would probably be the level to aim for decent performance. That level of performance does not come that cheap.

Rx470 is your best bet is you can swing g a few more dollars, or watch for a deal on a 4gb Rx 480. Huge upgrade from your 6870, and no worries about warranty issues from buying used.

I have a GeForce 580 ti I'm selling for $50 and amd ghz 7970z id sell for $80 each but I don't like dealing with shipping.

I would say a 7950 is about on par with a rx 460 < gtx 1050 or tI <gtx 970 =rx 470 = 1060 3gb <rx 480... I think there have been 470 s in the 135ar range which are pretty smoking deals.

Well, they're currently surviving on a card as slow as a 750 ti, so they can't be all that demanding.

But I agree the value of the purchase is better if your step up above 150 range.

RX470 or a refurb 970 (EVGA had them for $120 not too long ago after rebate), wouldn't invest in anything lower.

Neither will go for 100 bucks.

I did see a MSI AIB R9 290 4GB for $130 on [H] Sales. I think it's still up....

Yeah, it's still up for grabs.

(a nice lick, IMO)

That's not a bad card which I own under water but it's also not $100 and used?

There is always a RX 470 going for $130 or so after a rebate every week even right now. Best bang for buck new card right now. The brands seem to rotate powercolor, msi, asus, gigabyte with prices dropping if you check slickdeals.

I'd agree with people here in waiting for a 470/480, I've seen some great deals (~$150) lately on them, and they'd be a big upgrade. I'd personally wait a few more weeks for Vega to drop though, there will mostly likely be a good deal/price drop then.

This is a very impressive deal if you can jump on it! PC isn't my first choice when it comes to manufacturers but at that price it's hard to pass up.

if you save up a bit more you can pickup an r9 290 for around $130 here on [H]

Yeah, if I was playing anything more demanding than Shadow Warrior 2, I'd jump on that. But it's really not enough of an upgrade over my GTX 960 to justify it.

Check out your local Craigslist, I often find good to great deals. My buddy just picked up a EVGA GTX 970 SSC for $100 protection stickers were still on the card!
