Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a gaming monitor that is around the 23", 24" inch screen size. It will be used for PC gaming but mostly I will have my Xbox One hooked up to it threw HDMI and I want my desktop computer to be connected via hdmi or DVI. So I'm looking for the monitor to have at least 2 hdmi ports or 1 hdmi and 1 dvi port. I currently have a HP 2311x monitor but a recent lighting storm took that out of operation.
I don't have a brand preference but looking to spend around $200, and for sure less than $300.
Also I heard that PWM for dimming causes some health issues so I would prefer to stay away from monitors that use PWM.
One more thing, in the future I plan on buying another one of the monitors that I'll be getting so I can hook up dual monitors, maybe I'll even go triple. So monitors that have a thin bezel would be a plus.
Exited to see what you guys think are the best monitors!

(Do you think that monitors that have headphone out ports still have good sound quality, I was looking for that feature as well if so. Not wanting a monitor with built in speakers cause I already have a kick-ass sound system going on here.)

Eizo EV2336W.

+ No input lag
+ Semi matte coating
+ PLS panel
+ No PWM
+ Thin bezels
+ Displayport, DVI & VGA input so you can run multiple sources without switching cables

BenQ BL2411PT.

Same arguments as for the Eizo above but it unfortunately does not have hdmi.

The EV2336 costs 370-400$ in the US (450$+ tax in Canada), the BL2411PT is not available in the US and costs 330$ in Canada so expect 300$ in the US. The BL2411PT is not semi-glossy. The EV can be connected to a console with a dvi-hdmi adapter.

Only Acer offers PWM free IPS under 200$ but both models use glass=extremely reflective and poor black levels.

Example: Glass S27B970D left vs. semi-glossy P242W

Acer H226 (23" uses PWM)

Acer S236

The Dell P2414H does not use PWM, is pretty good and costs <300$

The BL2411PT is now available in the US from ncix.us . They are really milking the lack of competition though. If you convert the Amazon UK price for the monitor to USD (and without the VAT taxes), the price comes in below $300. The current price at ncix.us is $342 and they do not even offer their Express RMA/Zero Dead Pixel warranty for purchase on that monitor (and by default, they charge 15% restocking fee even with dead pixels).

Having used IPS panels for 7 years I am happy with the new Acer 23" I got last week for 129 (169 this week). It has multiples hook-up and comes with the cords. It has a thin bezel and I had not one pixel issue, light bleed etc. Even my $700 NECs had those. I've thought of Acer as an "off brand" but I've read they been making a push to up their game and this monitor is part of that.

That looks like a good monitor and has alot of the features I was looking at and its under $200! Have you ever used the audio out port on it? I've never had one on a monitor and I'm assuming it takes the audio being received from HDMI, right? Also is this monitor mountable at all?

SonOfa...I didn't even know this had speakers lol. From what I just read one person ran a line from pc headphone jack to monitor audio in. In video below the presenter talks about sound from HDMI . I don't even have a double jack wire like that and I don't use speakers on monitor. There is no VESA mount. Not sure about rigged mounting of any kind.

Haha, well glad I said that then. Hope you find a way to use it!

Damn, seeing it be moved around like that and seeing the bezel is pretty sweet. This monitor has me sold. I'm sure there's a way to mount them if a need arises but I don't need to mount it anyway so I'm not worried.

I just bought the BL2411PT from Amazon UK (shipped to US). I have Prime and it does get applied to their Global Priority shipping rates, so it came out to $351 USD shipped to with 2-4 day delivery.
