Looking for thread about 'Go Back' type apps

There was a thread I think in OS within the last week that had a bunch of apps listed for Windows OS to prevent spyware crap.
Anyone remember the thread? I looked and searched and couldnt find it

Not sure about the thread.. but all I use is MS Security Essentials and common sense.

There are some really archaic type programs out there that basically run your system in a VM so when you restart it is back to how it was previously.

I have had to work with these types of programs anf they are a royal pain to deal with when you want to update anything or even change a single setting.

Sequence:
1. Disable
2. Reboot
3. Install update or change setting and re-enable
4. Reboot.

I have also tried a couple other programs that basically run your browser in a VM.... kinda buggy and a lot of stuff doesn't work properly unless they have since changed stuff a lot in the last few months.
