Hi, I know absolutely nothing about monitors. I do love my sp2500's it's just that music sounds terrible on them, and the sub is massive.

I'd like to spend £100 on them. I do not make music so they don't need to be absolutely perfect, just good sounding for movies/games/music.

Thanks for the suggestions.

So far I'm thinking of getting the Mackie CR4's, slightly over budget but they seem to be the best for the price.

I just replaced an old Klipsch 2.1 that I had for well over a decade. Opted for JBL LSR305. Very pleased. Look around the audio forums there very highly regarded and priced right.

The Mackie's should be good value for money..

the JBL's are nice.. but they would be way over your budget ..seem to be 142~ ea.. on amazon.uk

here is another idea (also.. admittedly over budget) but passive bookshelf speakers

Q-Acoustics 3010's ~119/pr on amazon uk
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acoustics-...=1492392131&sr=8-11&keywords=q+acoustics+3000

you'd need an amp of some kinda:

here is a little SMSL class D amp costing about 42 pounds
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SMSL-SA-36...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=HW10EFHP52FMJWTQKPTT

edit.. also you'd need speaker wired and cables also..

I have used the Mackie CR4 before. Great sound....wouldn't hurt to be paired with a subwoofer though. Certainly a good value, especially if you find a solid used pair. (check my ebay, cough cough) No but really, they were an excellent set of speakers. I am selling them because I upgraded to something better and outside my wallet range. My biggest flaw with the CR4's was.....the style. That green light and green rim around the speaker. Bleh.
