Looking for a m.2 drive for bulk storage since the main drive is a 512GB nvme one.
Don't need crazy speeds and just want the most GB per dollar.
Have a 2.5 spinner going in it also.
Never bought or had a SSD, closest I had was a 1tb hybrid drive with 8gb flash.
Laptop I'm looking at is a Predator Helios 300.

If 2TB is enough, QLC sounds like it should work for you.

Though if you want something with a bit more pep, their premium series isn't THAT much more. TLC+DRAM

Not really looking for speed, thought there might be a non nvme drives for bulk. Budget is about $100. Saw the crucial drive for 105.

So far I only see 1tb drives for a 100, thought there might be larger ones for m.2 slots.

SATA m.2 drives are kind of a waste of money because virtually all of the ones that exist right now are priced within $15-20 of gen3 nvme drives. I know you aren't looking for speed for that storage, but do you really want to give up ~3-4x the performance for just ~$20? The nvme drive will be more useful over time since you could always end up using it as a repurposed system drive if the need ever arises.

Yeah, with $100 budget, you will get ~1TB. Though in the past, anything over 1TB (or even over 500GB) had a steep increase in cost-per-GB, we are finally seeing that start to level out with 2TB drives.

Don't get SATA m.2 unless you specifically need SATA, There are sales that come and go for various NVMe drives, just gotta keep your eyes open for them

How's $90 for the 1TB version of the first drive I recommended sound? And this is one sale MC will actually ship!

Wasn't really sure on m.2 drives that's why I asked.
If I get that Inland, I'll get it through Amazon because it's about the same price with tax and shipping.
So far I'm looking at the Crucial, unless there's something bad about it, never heard of Inland.

Inland is MCs house brand. They perform pretty much just like every other Phison SSD. Their TLC 1TB drive was pretty great in terms of bang for the buck.

I would also double check that laptop to make sure that both slots support NVMe. I'm not saying they don't, but just check so you don't get stuck with a drive you have to swap out anyway.
