Looking for decent budget PSU to put in older XPS PC?

Going to make this into a gaming pc for my youngster; upgrading GPU to GTX1650. The stock PSU is working but pc is about 8yrs old now; only ever used to get online or stream videos. Do you think I'd be ok keeping the stock PSU (350w) won't be used for any extreme gaming, no overclocking etc. Or should I switch it out? If so what would be a decent budget PSU (450w or so) to put in there?

I mean if you can, I would swap out the PSU. Best to look for something either Semi or Full modular to help on cable management.

I would suggest taking a look at pcpartpicker.com and look through those.

It's an XPS what? Dell has made thousands of XPS machines from desktops to laptops, you need to be specific about the model number. It's like saying you have a Ford vehicle and need tires for it and not specifying the model.

Many Dell computers use proprietary power supplies where you can't just slap a generic ATX power supply in. In the past 10 years or so, Dell has started using proprietary 12VO standards where the power supply only puts out a 12v rail, which precludes using any generic power supply at all because the connectors are nowhere near the same.

It is the XPS 8100; I think it takes regular sized PSU. The CX line has went up in price, maybe there's similar one for less, or better for same price?

It indeed does look like it takes a standard PSU.

All computer components have gone up in price due to corona, tariffs and such. You can't shop around too hard because going too cheap gets you an IED PSU.

Really think these are ok PSU for light usage? Which do you think is best, the Seasonic is a name I recognize, is it good one?
What about this one: EVGA 80+ Bronze 500W =$50
Only be running GTX1050ti OC, maybe a 1060 at most.

I've used it and it works fine. I'm not a fan of their "white" psu's, but I've never had a problem with the 500W Bronze ones.

That Seasonic S12III from NE is $39.99 AR right now. I'd probably buy that honestly unless you want to buy from Amazon.
