Looking for advice on new monitor

Ive got an older acer 22" right now and looking to upgrade to something around 27" I was debating on using a tv but most the stuff i read online say it just wont look good so im looking for something around around the 200-250 range. I dont need 3D and just want something thats bigger and looks decent for games IE rift, wow etc and some light movie watching.

I found http://www.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/VE276Q/ online for around $220 shipped, any suggestions for stuff around that price. Thanks

Should be pretty good if you're just looking for an everyday monitor and just looking for extra display real-estate

Open to suggestions if anyone has links for decent monitors. Updated first post to show what im currently using spec wise. It is older but I love it and dont really know any different from the new stuff out there lol

Samsung S27a750d or S27a950d are the great LCDs .. Especially if you are a gamer.

Thats way out of my budget, cant see myself paying $500 for a pc monitor. like $250 is max id like to spend and thats pushing it. I also dont need new, perfectly happy buying used.
