Looking for a SUPER comfy pair of headphones

+1 for the ad700's, so comfortable.. much more than the hd555 but those are actually pretty comfortable too.

i also disagree with whoever said you need a largish head for the ad700's, my little brother wore then constantly while gaming on my pc and thought they were very comfortable and i never noticed them failing off :). it's true that if i shake my head quickly i can get them to slip off but i don't experience many earthquakes in my computer chair. it's really just preference, do u like baggy jeans or tight fitting emo ones?
 
I'll tell you what you DON'T want if you're looking for comfort.

I love my ATH-A900's and recommend them or the A700's (or ATH-AD variant if open back cans will work for you) all the time.

IMO the AD700 is actually superior to the A900 in some ways, if you don't mind giving up the isolation and a bit in the bass department.
 
Sennheiser HD 595 / 590 / 580 / 600 / 650, in order of their sound quality. (last three models all share the same exterior design with a few minor differences)

The comfort of these 'phones is superlative, I own a pair of HD 650's and I have, in the past fallen asleep on my couch with them still on my head.
World class.
 
AD700 > A900 for comfort. I have the A900 and don't use it that much compared to my AD700. The A900 gets stuffy pretty fast with the closed cans and leather pads. Also It presses on the head harder. The A900 does sound better though.
 
I have tried a lot of the expensive headphones, HD650, K701, DT880/990, Grado RS-1, Denon D5000, I could go on and on. The Denon D5000 was the most comfortable. But I still prefer my Philips SHP9000. Seriously the most comfortable pair of headphones EVER MADE. The ear cushions are completely circum-aural and are so effing soft I cannot describe it. The material they cover it feels like some kind of MICROFIBER. Also, it's lightweight and uses a suspension-adjusting design similar to the high end AKG's. They are such an underrated pair of headphones. The detail isn't as good as with the more expensive models, but they have VERY good soundstaging.

I'm probably not giving the pair justice. Seriously.
 
I had the sony v6's, which were comfortable, but the sound on them disturbed me. Not bad for $100. The DT770's are a bit more comfortable, but only for a few hours. I would say the most comfortable headphones I have used were Ultrasone 750's. They have the same velour pads as my 770's, and sounded pretty damn good.
 
MDR-F1 from Sony are the most comfortable headphones by a large margin.
 
I have a pair of ATH-AD700 and they're really comfortable, sometimes they feel like they feel like they could fall off of my head at any moment. Maybe I've worn them out, been wearing them every day for the past few years lol
 
Sennheiser HD-580 or HD-600 are the most comfy I've tried The HD-535 aren't bad either.
 
any audio technica headphone with the air wing or whatever it's called = most comfortable
