looking for the PCB off a seagate 250GB PATA 7200 hdd, it's actual model number is ST3250823ACE it's a 7200 RPM 8MB cache drive, the drive is not able to be rma'd due to comeing out of a tivo or similar unit, i just need a working PCB off a drive that has other physical damage my main concern is that the pcb is working

sometimes it is, but the only way to tell is to try..

if they are the same generation, and part of the same production run than it very well could be.. i would need to know the model and p/n / rev / maybe even sn to know if it would be compatable.. i know for a fact it's just a fried pcb the 12V line is shorted in one of the regulators or other circuit's

I'm sorry, the 1/10000 chance you have is simple in technique but difficult in execution. There are other things to check on a Seagate that saw a power surge before swapping the PCB. The model num/part num/serial num combo will tell you nothing. I've got 3 similar Seagate 7200 250GB drives right here, made in Singapore, Thailand and China.
